BACKPACKS FOR CHILDREN

Monday, July 6, 2015

We all use bags in our everyday lives. Bag types vary depending on our needs. As children we used backpacks called schoolbags which were made of leather, they were square-shaped with two straps and a clasp, the Interior of the bag had two or three compartments, two main ones and a smaller one. This is how we carried our books every day. Nowadays children carry bags from kindergarten age and throughout the period of school. The classic, most used bags are the backpacks kinds which are most commonly used to carry food, change of clothing and more. Backpacks for young children are typically small and made from durable materials like cotton and synthetic, high resistance fabrics.

School backpacks, are designed to carry heavier equipment such as: books, school supplies, sports gearand therefore must be larger and more durable. Some of them have waist belt and shoulder straps that are designed to alleviate the weight of the bag. The selection of bags for kindergarten and schools children is growing from year to year. Many manufacturers are trying to enhance the bearing capacity of the bags, there are orthopedic bags with padded backs or rolling packs with wheels, there are backpacks with several compartments for a better weight distribution and practical access to items.

Every beginning of a school year we purchase a school bag and you see many shops and malls displaying a wide variety of backpacks. The selection of a school bag is an important matter for every family and is completely subjective but it's important to make sure that the bag is comfortable and suits the child's needs.

CHOOSING A BACKPACK

Nowadays, there is an extensive supply of backpacks on the market and in a wide range of prices. Most parents have a tendency to let their children chose their own backpacks, but as often happens shortly after the purchase, the parents realize that the bag is not orthopedically designed and fits the child's body structure, they may also find out that the bag's material is poor quality and other problems.  Since the child is the one who usually picks out his favorite bag, the parents should be involved and ensure a responsible purchase from a reputable company that produces quality backpacks.

BACKPACKS - IMPORTANT GUIDELINES

Rigorous testing - bags that are marketed and supplied to the general public must meet rigorous standards during production and post production as finished products. Production of backpacks needs to stand the tests of standards such as materials used, durability, ergonomics, safety, etc.

Fittingness - the second thing to consider is the structure of the bag. It is important to ensure that the bag is orthopedic and is physically fitting for the child's body's structure. In addition, make sure that there is a special lining that allows the ventilation of the bag during the day.

Straps - It is important to make sure that the bag straps are adjustable, wide, padded and fit comfortably on the child's shoulders.

Weight - Bear in mind that the weight of a child is light and therefore it is important to choose a lightweight backpack in order to avoid unnecessary overload on the daily way to school and back.

Warranty and reliability - It is important to make sure that the company that sells the bag provides a warranty and customer service in case of necessity.
